Reynerio Tamayo graduated from the Nueva Gerona Elementary School of Art, Isla de la Juventud in 1983. He later studied at the National School of Arts in 1987 and later at the Instituto Superior de Arte in 1992. Some of his most recent individual exhibitions are: "Gangsters in Havana", next to the XI Havana Biennial - La Cabaña Fortress, Havana, Cuba - 20012, "The Promised Land" at the Havana Gallery - Havana, Cuba – 2011, “November Station” at the Pedro Torres Gallery - Logroño, Spain – 2009 and “My Magma!” at the Villa Manuela Gallery - Havana, Cuba – 2008. Awards Grand Prize "Eduardo Abela" at the XVIII Biennial of Graphic Humor - San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba - 2013. Honorable Mention in the First International Cartoon Contest - Sinaloa, Mexico - 2012. Honorable Mention in the First Exhibition of Contemporary Cuban Art - National Museum of Fine Arts - Havana, Cuba - 1995. Grand Prize "Golden Aesop" at the 91st International Biennial of Humor and Satire in the Arts - Gabrovo, Bulgaria - 1989. His works are exhibited in the collections of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana and the Museum of Humor in San Antonio de los Baños - both in Cuba -, the "Van Reekum" Museum in Apeldoorn - The Netherlands -, the Collection of Arte Coral Capital in Panama City, - Panama -, the "Daisaku Ikeda" Collection - Japan -, the "Von Christierson" Collection - London, United Kingdom - and the "Gilbert Brownstone" Collection in France, among others.
