Osama Eid Hajjaj is a Palestinian-Jordanian cartoonist, born in Amman in 1973. Known for his political cartoons and caricatures, Hajjaj's work frequently tackles social and political issues in the Middle East. Hajjaj began his career in Jordan, contributing to various daily newspapers like Ad-Dustour and Al Ra'i, and weeklies such as Al-Bilad and Al-Mar'aa. His work also appeared in the Emirati newspaper Al-Ittihad. Currently, he finds his cartoons published in both regional and international platforms. Hajjaj's brother, Emad Hajjaj, is also a cartoonist. Both brothers understand the inherent risks of political cartooning in the Middle East. They have faced intimidation and even death threats, particularly for their critiques of ISIS through satire. Hajjaj himself claims to have been imprisoned for one of his cartoons.
