Morteza Asadi, painter and art instructor, was born in 1957 in Tehran. He completed his preliminary art education at the School of Fine Arts in Tehran, then entered the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Painting in 1988. Asadi continued his studies in Illustration and graduated with a Master’s degree from the University of Tehran in 1996. He then pursued a PhD in the History of Art and Archaeology of Islamic Art at the Sorbonne University (Paris IV) in France, but after a period of study, he left it unfinished and returned to Iran, where he completed his doctorate in Art Research at Shahed University. In 1997, he joined the faculty of this university and began teaching art.
