Raúl de la Nuez is a Cuban-born visual artist, caricaturist, painter, and art director who has worked for over 40 years across Latin America, the United States, and Europe. He has directed art and design for film and television, taught at multiple universities, and exhibited his work in solo shows in countries such as Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and the United States. De la Nuez’s artwork includes political and social caricature, painting, and graphic design; his style is noted for its careful line work, precise color use, poetic sensibility, and an ironic yet serious outlook. He has also been a juror in international caricature contests, won numerous awards, and contributed significantly to visual satire as a tool for critique of contemporary issues — topics such as migration, environment, economics, and identity often appear in his work. He has been resident in Miami for many years, where he continues to produce, teach, and exhibit.
