Fernando Cobelo is a Venezuelan illustrator born in 1988 and currently based in Turin, Italy. He is recognized for his clean, defined, and sometimes playful illustrations that evoke a sense of simplicity and childlike wonder. His work often explores themes of dreams, nostalgia, and emotional introspection, blending surrealism with elements from everyday life. Cobelo's unique artistic voice has led to collaborations with major clients such as The New York Times, Google, Walt Disney Studios, Penguin Random House, and UNICEF, among others. He has also published acclaimed art books and participated in international exhibitions. Cobelo began drawing as a child in Venezuela, finding joy in recreating cartoon characters and gradually developing his own style. After studying at the Central University of Venezuela and the Polytechnic University of Turin, he moved to Italy, where he built an international reputation. His art often reflects a longing for his homeland and personal memories, using visual metaphors to communicate universally understood feelings. Cobelo has received recognition from respected illustration organizations, and his minimalist approach and emotional sensitivity characterize all his projects. He has engaged in educational activities worldwide, teaching in institutions across Italy, Mexico, India, and other countries. On social media, he has amassed a large following, sharing his minimalist pencil drawings, often under the pseudonym "Ordinary Young Man". Cobelo remains committed to exploring new artistic avenues and inspiring young artists to remain curious, persistent, and open to new experiences.
