  Oscar Sotillo Meneses is a Venezuelan multidisciplinary artist whose creative work spans over three decades. His core practice is painting, yet he has explored object-books, installations, printmaking, murals, and drawing. Deeply influenced by literature and urban contexts, his art features recurring themes such as botanical elements, historical icons, popular symbols, and graphic experimentation. In addition to his artistic production, Sotillo has been active in visual communication, cultural research, alternative publishing, and artistic education. His works have been exhibited in Venezuela, Cuba, the U.S., the Netherlands, Belgium, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and Bolivia. He is known for integrating technical repetition, templates, and experimental formats in his practice, rooted in his training in graphic arts. Sotillo's exhibitions include solo and collective shows such as "Imagen, alma y tiempo", “Callejero”, “Un solo Cuerpo”, and "Eufemismos Imperiales". He has participated in numerous salons and biennials, including the Salón Arturo Michelena, Bienal de Caracas, and events in Philadelphia. He holds a degree in Fine Arts (UNEARTES, 2019) and a second degree in Education (UNESR). His studies also include photography, bookbinding, graphic design, color theory, and communication. He currently resides in Caracas, continuing his poetic and creative journey.
