Cristian Turdera is an Argentine illustrator and designer born in Buenos Aires in 1973. He started working in advertising agencies, progressing through roles such as Junior Designer, Senior Designer, and Art Director over a period of ten years. In 1996 he published his first book, and from that point his career gained momentum; he has published over forty books since then. His work spans many formats: books, public signage, television commercials, editorial pieces, magazines, toys, clothing, puzzles, posters, calendars, vinyl, and more. He also founded El Topo Ilustrado with Tobías Schleider, a creative project that combines literature, philosophy, and imagery. Turdera is also a teacher: he is part of the Cátedra de Ilustración Roldán at the University of Buenos Aires, leads workshops, and teaches illustration in postgraduate programs. His style combines design and illustration in ways that blur the boundary between them, often with whimsical or thoughtful narrative details, playful yet meaningful imagery, bright color, and layered compositions.
