Lula Mari - Argentina

Lula Mari - Argentina

By LatAm ARTE

Lula Mari is an Argentine painter born in Buenos Aires in 1977. She studied at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón and was a student of Alejandro Boim. Her work draws inspiration from baroque art, nature, and symbolism, creating a visual world that moves between the classical and the contemporary. Since 2010, she has developed the concept of “painting recitals,” live performances where she presents her paintings one by one under dramatic lighting and sound. These events invite the audience to observe each work slowly and with deep attention. Her solo exhibitions include Mil Mañanas , 16 maneras de encontrarse perdido , and El despertar de los insectos . She has participated in major national salons in Argentina and received several distinctions for her contribution to contemporary painting. Her paintings often explore mystery, transformation, and the tension between serenity and chaos. Animals, human figures, and dreamlike landscapes inhabit her canvases, suggesting inner journeys and emotional metamorphoses. In her studio, Lula Mari maintains a minimalist environment where everything is in its precise place. For her, the true adventure lies in the discipline of the creative act. Through her painting recitals, she invites the public to rediscover slowness, silence, and the emotional power of color and form.
