Aline Kaori is a Japanese-Brazilian freelance lettering artist, calligrapher, and type designer from São Paulo, Brazil. She has been dedicated to the study and practice of letter arts since 2013, continuously refining her craft with renowned teachers such as John Stevens, Julian Waters, Ale Paul, and others. Aline holds a degree from the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo. She interned at Oficina Tipográfica São Paulo, where she deepened her passion for typography and printing. Her custom lettering has been featured in projects for major brands including Budweiser, Vivo, Natura, and Tiffany & Co. Aline is also an educator, teaching calligraphy and lettering workshops since 2016 and mentoring beginners in type design. Her first typeface, Pitaya Italic, was recognized by the Tipos Latinos Biennial in 2018. Aline regularly creates content and offers critiques to make letter arts more accessible. She is involved in the Brazilian letter arts community and values both tradition and contemporary expression in her work. Her style blends elegance, creativity, and technical mastery. Aline hopes to keep developing typefaces and contributing to the art form while encouraging others to pursue their creative journeys. She has a strong sense of social responsibility and integrates these values into her projects. Today, Aline continues to inspire as both an artist and educator.
