Henderson Cisz was born in Brazil in 1960 and raised in a small village near Maringá in Paraná state. From a young age, he enjoyed painting but initially worked in banking while treating art as a hobby. In 1986, he moved to London to make art his full-time profession. He is known for atmospheric cityscape and seascape paintings that evoke mood through soft, cool tones: wet streets, subtle reflections, rain-clad atmospheres, and romantic urban vignettes are common themes in his work. He also paints serene coastal scenes with tranquility and open skies. Over time, Cisz has gained international recognition. He has won awards, including the John Solomon Trophy and the title “Artist of the Year” in 2007. He exhibits via galleries in London and abroad, and his originals and limited-edition prints are collected internationally.
