Maida K , born Magdalena Cañas in 1991 in Santiago, Chile, is a prominent visual artist known for her distinctive street art. She began her artistic journey in 2005, initially engaging in graffiti as a hobby. In 2011, she pursued formal education in Visual Arts at Universidad Diego Portales, enhancing her technical skills and artistic perspective. By 2015, Maida relocated to Valparaíso, where she transitioned to professional muralism. Her works often explore themes of identity, resilience, and the human connection to nature. Notable murals include “Resistencia en el Planeta de los Gigantes” and “Más fuerte que tus medios,” reflecting her commitment to social messages. Maida's art has graced public spaces across Chile and internationally, including France, Germany, Spain, the United States, Mexico, and Bolivia. In 2017, she received the Talento Joven Mujer en las Artes Visuales award from ZONTA International.
