Aluízio Fernandes de Andrade, known as Aluízio Fernã , is a self-taught Brazilian painter and illustrator from Serra Talhada, born and raised in the rural environment of Saco da Roça. His artistic journey began at age 12, and by 16 he was already working as a commercial illustrator. He taught drawing and painting workshops for a decade at the Fundação Cultural de Serra Talhada, mentoring over 400 students, some of whom now excel in architecture, fashion design, and painting. His work honors the daily life, traditions, and culture of Sertanejo people, using a technique of oil on terra that he learned from his teacher Carmelo Gentil. Aluízio has participated in prominent art fairs such as Fiart, Feincarts, and has been a regular at Fenearte since 2016. His painting "Arando Terra" was selected from over 300 works to be featured at the Salão de Belas Artes in Piracicaba and included in its national catalog of 2,500 copies. He also blends visual art with poetry, executing exhibitions that combine his own paintings with poems created by Sertão poets, as seen in the project Arte com Poesia . Aluízio continues to exhibit nationwide while celebrating the rich and poetic heritage of the Brazilian hinterland.
