Massoud Shojai Tabatabaei is a prominent Iranian cartoonist and curator with a distinguished international career. Born in Tehran in 1964, he graduated from the College of Fine Arts at Tehran University with a degree in painting. He further honed his skills in graphic design at a teacher training university. Tabatabaei has held various leadership roles within the cartoon community. He served as the editor-in-chief of "Kayhan Caricature" and the director of the "Iranian House of Cartoon." His contributions to the field have been recognized internationally, as evidenced by his membership in the Asian-Pacific Animation and Comics Association (APACA). Throughout his career, Tabatabaei has been a frequent juror at prestigious cartoon contests worldwide. He has participated in judging panels in countries such as Turkey, Cuba, China, Syria, Greece, and Brazil. His expertise has also been sought in organizing and curating cartoon exhibitions, including the Tehran Biennial Cartoon Contest. Tabatabaei's work has garnered numerous awards and accolades. He has received first prizes in contests such as the 8th International Contest Animal Cartoon in Serbia and the Syria Cartoon Contest.
