Albert Paley is a modern American sculptor who works with metal. In fact, he started his career as a jeweler and has now become one of the most prominent and influential metal sculptors in the world. There are three important elements in his works: natural environment, artificial environment and human. He is the first sculptor to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Institute of Architects. He currently lives and works in Rochester, New York. Pali graduated in fine arts with a degree in metal sculpture. And obtained a master's degree in medal making and metal works. After receiving his art degrees, he started working as a jewelry designer and became famous for his special style and size of works. Most of his jewelry works are made to order by special customers. After a while, in 1965, he stopped making jewelry and started working with iron again. In 1973 he received an order from the Smithsonian Museum, which was a great success for him. The first large Pali statue was erected for the Strong Museum in 1982. In the 1980s he built several large sculptures that simply matched the original geometric shapes. Some of Pali's works are made of a combination of glass and steel. Some of the most important orders Albert Pally has received include Park Street Sculptures, the West Virginia Center for the Arts and Science entrance sculpture, the Birmingham Museum of Art exterior sculpture, the entrance gate to the Naples Museum of Art in Florida, and more. He has also received prestigious awards such as the Gold Medal of the American Handicrafts Council, the Artist of the Year Award of the Rochester Council of Arts and Culture, the American Architects Excellence Award, and more.
