Artificial Intelligence Officially Targets Graphic Designers

Are you worried about the future of your career in graphic design?
If not, perhaps you should be.

The latest Future of Jobs Report from the World Economic Forum (WEF) brings troubling news for graphic designers.
Based on surveys with over 1,000 employers across 55 countries, representing more than 14 million workers, the report lists graphic design as the 11th most declining job expected over the next five years.

In the previous edition, graphic design was classified as a field of “moderate growth.”
So, what has changed? The answer is clear: Artificial Intelligence.

AI-powered tools such as Midjourney, DALL·E, and Adobe Firefly are reshaping the entire creative industry.
Companies are increasingly replacing human designers with AI systems capable of generating dozens of design options in seconds.

However, experts believe that all is not lost.
Designers who choose to adapt, learn, and collaborate with technology instead of resisting it can still thrive.
Human creativity, emotional intelligence, and cultural intuition remain irreplaceable — at least for now.
