Released in 2023, art of diplomacy tells a remarkable episode of Brazilian diplomacy in the middle of World War II. In 1944, Brazil sent 168 paintings by 70 Brazilian modernist artists to be displayed and auctioned in the United Kingdom. Firstly held at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, in late 1944, and then in seven other British galleries until September 1945, the exhibition is one of the largest Brazilian art shows abroad to this day. The funds obtained from the exhibition were donated to the Royal Air Force as a war effort.

The film's script is based on Gadelha research, which resulted in the book Public Diplomacy on the Front Line: The Exhibition of Modern Brazilian Paintings (2023, Anthem Press) and the reassembly of the exhibition at the Brazilian Embassy in London in 2018. O Event is promoted by the Interunids Postgraduate Program in Aesthetics and Art History (PGEHA) and the Postgraduate Program in Latin America Integration (Prolam).

The screening of Zeca Brito's art of diplomacy, followed by debate with the director and diplomat Hayle Gadelha, will be on March 25, Monday, at 2:30 pm, at the Paulo Emilio Auditorium of the School of Communications and Arts ( ECA) from USP (Professor Lúcio Martins Rodrigues Avenue, 443, University City, in São Paulo). Free entrance.
