New edition of arteba: the City, present to promote its museums

"We want to continue positioning Buenos Aires as a global cultural capital," affirmed Mayor Jorge Macri.

Arteba is one of the main events for promoting contemporary Argentine and Latin American art: this year the City will be present with MuseosBA, a stand that seeks to reaffirm the role of museums as living spaces where heritage connects with the present.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture, there will be guided tours of the fair, which will take place from Friday to Sunday at the Costa Salguero Center (Costanera Rafael Obligado 1221, Palermo).

The MuseosBA stand will feature works by artists Matías Kavu and Cotelito. The proposal invites reflection on the line as an aesthetic and conceptual element: from its presence in the tradition of the Buenos Aires filete to its expansion and transformation into contemporary art. Guided tours will take place on Friday at 5 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m., led by curator Victoria Cobos.

"We will always support the artists, gallery owners, and curators at this event that brings together the entire region to appreciate Argentine talent." (Jorge Macri)

"Contemporary art is a key player in the city. We want to continue positioning Buenos Aires as a global cultural capital," said Mayor Jorge Macri, who attended the pre-opening of the exhibition. "We will always support the artists, gallery owners, and curators at this artistic event that brings together the entire region to appreciate Argentine talent," he added. He was accompanied by his wife, journalist María Belén Ludueña; the Minister of Culture, Gabriela Ricardes; Cabinet officials; and artists.

Under the theme "Art as a Human Language," the 33rd edition of arteba will showcase works by more than 400 artists represented by 67 galleries from 16 cities. The internationally renowned exhibition serves as a meeting point for artists, gallery owners, curators, collectors, buyers, and the general public. Talks and lectures on the challenges facing modern and contemporary art will also be held.
