Call for International Festival of New Latin American Cinema

Holguín, - Cámara Azul, the premier gathering for audiovisuals during the May Festival, was a propitious venue to announce this Monday the opening of the call for entries for the 46th edition of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema.

Rubén Ricardo Infante, press director for the event, announced that submissions for the feature-length fiction, first feature, short, and animation competitions, among other categories related to the seventh art, will be accepted until August 15 of this year.

At the event, held at the Chaplin Cafeteria in Holguín, Luciano Castillo, director of the Cuban Cinematheque, praised the Cuban public, which faithfully attends each edition of the event.

One thing that hasn't changed at the festival is the audience; the Cuban public has a fervor not found at other international festivals, he noted.

This event becomes a window to see all possible cinema beyond the American continent, because it maintains its name but encompasses much more, argued Luciano Castillo.

The importance of film bibliography for scholars of the subject was also discussed at the meeting; valuable copies were also presented to the University of the Arts branch in Holguín.

The 46th edition of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema will be held in Havana from December 4 to 14.

The press director for the event added that it will be a space for discussion about the event and invited people to submit their works and stay informed about the requirements by accessing the event's platforms.
