With more than 50 artists interviewed, Extramuros celebrates one year on Señal Colombia

Under the direction of artist Salvador Arbeláez, this Señal Colombia program, which can be seen every Thursday at 9:00 p.m., celebrates its first anniversary with more than 50 programs portraying the work of local and international artists through interviews and filming from regions such as Amazonas, Atlántico, Antioquia, Valle del Cauca, among others.

EXTRAMUROS, the only program dedicated to visual art on television, has shown in its first year on the air the contrast between the visual arts being produced in the country's neighborhoods. This included the interview in Puerto Resistencia (Cali) with artist Johan Samboni, who has portrayed the "social uprising"; as well as the first episode with Colombian-Chilean artist Mario Opazo in his Bogotá studio.

“Unlike historical programs about the national and international art world, such as the Artist's Workshop by curator and critic Eduardo Serrano, Extramuros has made a difference by being one hour long, and is being produced not only in major cities but also in areas of deep Colombia, as well as other countries,” says director and artist Salvador Arbeláez.

EXTRAMUROS is a commitment by Señal Colombia, a channel of the RTVC Public Media System, to democratize the arts, bringing them closer to diverse audiences, removing the visual arts from the salons and high-end galleries to offer an authentic and accessible representation of the Colombian art scene.

María Isabel Rueda, from Puerto Colombia; Dagoberto Rodríguez and Glenda León, in Madrid (Spain); Mario Arroyave and Darío Ortiz, in Mexico City; Johan Samboni, in Cali. Linda Ponguita, Mario Opazo, Clemencia Echeverri, and Luz Ángela Lizarazo, from Bogotá, are some of the talented artists who have spread their culture through EXTRAMUROS on Señal Colombia.
