Success and Diversity at the Visual Arts Gathering

This year's edition featured guest artists from Salta, Tucumán, Córdoba, and Buenos Aires. The aim was to build bridges between the diverse perspectives that shape the region's cultural richness.

As part of Calilegua's patron saint festivities, the National Visual Arts Gathering "Latin American Cosmovision" took place on August 6, 7, and 8 with great attendance. This event brought together 37 artists from different parts of the country and this year added a valuable inclusive approach.

The director of the Cacique Calilegua Regional Museum of Visual Arts, Juan Pablo Ramírez, spoke with El Tribuno de Jujuy and expressed his satisfaction with the response. “The gathering was a success. Unlike other years, we brought together artists dedicated to inclusion, with the participation of foundations working in this field. Some arrived on the second or third day due to work issues, but everyone was committed to the event and to the Calilegua House of Art.”

The museum, which functions as a meeting space and preserves the town's cultural memory, was the central stage for ancestral ceremonies, live painting, and exhibitions that connected artists and the public with Pachamama. “We sought to highlight the roots that are present in Calilegua today, and this is only possible thanks to the people who put their time and effort into it. In addition, we have the support of municipal, legislative, and private organizations, which is an added value to continue supporting art in the province,” Ramírez added.
The 2025 edition was also distinguished by its intercultural nature, with the presence of guest artists from Salta, Tucumán, Córdoba, and Buenos Aires. “I try to ensure that every event I organize has a social impact, bringing art to inclusion. These types of events help both Calilegua and Jujuy grow because they foster cultural exchange and the sharing of different artistic perspectives,” he emphasized. Participating artists included Brígido Abán, Mauro Mendieta, Maitén Soruco, Pablo Zarra, Sergio Benci, Noemí Gregorio, Marcos Osacar, Carola Nicastro, Fabricio Calizaya, Alejandro Condorí, Rita Mariel, Anahí Meneses, Iván Dorado, Mirta Contrera, Ale Teves, Ernesto Ebbes, Soledad Ochoa, Patricia Abán, Walter Valdiviezo, Maby Flores, Ezequiel Ramírez, Daniela Isleño, Luis Prieto, Constanza Conde, Clara Hilda Morocho, María Álvarez, and Melanina Mamani.
