ICBC Argentina Exclusive at MALBA

Liliana Porter had an exclusive ICBC Argentina Pre-Opening at MALBA
(July 15, 2025). ICBC Argentina invited its clients to a retrospective exhibition of Liliana Porter's work, curated by Agustín Pérez Rubio, which spans the artist's extensive career, beginning in the 1960s.

ICBC Argentina invited its clients to the exclusive Pre-Opening of the exhibition "Liliana Porter. Journey," which took place on Thursday, July 10, at 8:00 p.m. at the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA). The exhibition opens on July 12 and will be open until October 13.

Curated by Agustín Pérez Rubio, the exhibition offers a journey through the vast career of the artist, born in Buenos Aires in 1941 and currently based in New York. From her first graphic productions with the New York Graphic Workshop in the 1960s to her renowned installations featuring small objects and figures from everyday life, the exhibition reflects the aesthetic, conceptual, and political universe of Porter, one of the most unique voices in contemporary Latin American art.

The exhibition offers a comprehensive look at Porter's work, encompassing prints, paintings, photographs, videos, installations, and theater pieces. At each stage, the artist deploys a language charged with humor, irony, and social criticism, where the intimate and the collective, memory and the absurd coexist. Her now emblematic "cast" of characters, composed of figures found at flea markets, uses the stage as a narrative vehicle to discuss memory, work, politics, the passage of time, and human relationships, among other topics.

In this sense, ICBC Argentina reaffirms its interest in promoting art and supporting proposals that invite us to immerse ourselves in the works of art and the views of the world proposed by an artist. “We are proud to accompany MALBA in this exhibition, which not only highlights the work of a fundamental artist like Liliana Porter, but also contributes to a dialogue between generations, languages, and territories,” said Macarena Santos Muñoz, Head of Institutional Relations at ICBC.

During the opening event, attendees were able to explore this “journey” between media, ideas, and eras. In addition, the theatrical program that will be part of the exhibition was presented, allowing visitors to appreciate another fundamental facet of Porter's work: her approach to theater and performance.

With this initiative, ICBC Argentina continues to consolidate its support for art that enriches cultural heritage and strengthens ties with the community.
