ARCOmadrid Opens with the Amazon as the Central Project of the 44th Edition
One of Europe's leading contemporary art fairs, ARCO Madrid, opened its 2025 exhibition on Wednesday with the Amazon as its central project. The event's organizers say this year's exhibition, in its 44th edition, reflects on new modes of creation that represent hybrid existences between human, vegetal, physical, and metaphysical bodies.
The Contemporary Art Fair features a total of 214 art galleries from 36 countries around the world. With a mix of established and emerging talent, ARCOmadrid explores important Latin American art, with nearly a third of the international galleries coming from the region.
The opening on Wednesday was attended by King Felipe VI and his wife, Queen Letizia. The International Contemporary Art Fair of Spain has been held annually in Madrid since 1982. The exhibition opened to the public this Thursday and will remain open until next Sunday, March 9.
