Edo Costantini Exhibition at MAC Niterói in Brazil

Sculptures and nature take center stage in Edo Costantini's exhibition at MAC Niterói in Brazil
The Argentine artist presents a selection of recent works in Rio de Janeiro, including photography, video, music, and sculptures.
Edo Costantini opened his first solo museum exhibition, titled "Through the Green Veil," on September 6 at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Niterói (MAC Niterói) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The exhibition, curated by Nicolas Martin Ferreira and accompanied by text by Paulo Herkenhoff, brings together a selection of works created by Costantini over the last decade, including photography, video, music, and bronze sculptures. The sculptures were developed in collaboration with artist Delfina Braun and architect Delfina Muniz Barreto.

The exhibition features 20 large-format photographs, the installation Opium Whispers in homage to Jean Cocteau, and a screening of Last Survivors, a 30-minute film shot during the same period. Costantini's photographic work focuses on the representation of nature, especially in the forests of upstate New York, and explores the relationship between the individual and the passage of time. The photographic series began in 2013 in Woodstock and extends to 2025, with images taken in and around Katonah–Bedford Hills.
Last Survivors was filmed during the pandemic and is presented as a reflection on the resilience of nature and the human experience. The narration is by actress Hera Hilmar, with a script by Costantini and Martín Hadis. The soundtrack was composed by Costantini under his musical project, The Orpheists.
The artistic collective formed by Delfina Braun, Edo Costantini, and Delfina Muniz Barreto exhibits bronze sculptures that explore forms and rhythms found in nature. Among the pieces are two spheres inspired by mycelium and sculptures based on the fungus known as "lady's veil."
