Pinta Panama Art Week 2025

Pinta Panama Art Week 2025

Pinta Panama Art Week 2025 Turns Panama City into the Capital of Contemporary Art
From May 21st to 25th, Panama City will host the first edition of Pinta Panama Art Week, an event that will bring together artists, curators, collectors, gallery owners, and cultural institutions focused on contemporary art from Central and Latin America. The program will be public, free, and open to the entire community.

Organized by the international platform Pinta, with sponsorship from EFG (Global Lead Partner) and Mercantil, the art week is held in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of Panama (MINCULT) and with the support of the Mayor's Office of Panama.
The artistic direction is led by Irene Gelfman, Global Curator of Pinta, and the general curatorship is the responsibility of Emiliano Valdés, a prominent Guatemalan curator.

For five days, the city will host exhibitions, studio visits, guided tours, and special activities in galleries, museums, and cultural spaces. Participating institutions include the MAC Panama, the Canal Museum, the Mola Museum, the City of Arts, the Olga Sinclair Foundation, and others.

The inaugural exhibition, titled "What Every Life Dreams," will be presented from May 22 to 25 at the City of Arts. It features works by artists Felipe Gómez, Jonathan Harker, the Enlaces Program, and Libertad Rojo, curated by Emiliano Valdés and Juan Canela, director of the MAC Panama.

One of the highlights of the event will be the Pinta Panama Art Week International Forum, coordinated by Mónica E. Kupfer, which will bring together leading voices from the art world in a series of conversations about collecting, curating, foundations, and regional challenges. Participating figures include Julia Morandeira Arrizabalaga (Reina Sofía Museum, Spain), Gerardo Mosquera (independent curator), María Sancho-Arroyo (Sotheby's Institute, New York), and Sofía Villena Araya (MADC, Costa Rica).

The FORUM will take place in venues such as the Centro Cultural de España, the MAC Panamá, the Museo del Canal, and the Auditorio Mercantil, with support from Roche Bobois París and Veló Legal.

With the participation of more than a dozen local galleries, including Galería Habitante, Arteconsult, Yaco Art Gallery, Weil Art Gallery, and NG Art Gallery, the event will offer an immersive experience in a city characterized by its cultural and geographical diversity. In addition to art, the public will be able to enjoy Panama City's architecture, gastronomy, and rich heritage.
Pinta Panamá Art Week joins Pinta's calendar of events, which includes fairs such as Pinta Miami, Pinta BAphoto, Pinta Lima, and Pinta Asunción Art Week. With this new edition, it reaffirms its commitment to highlighting Latin American art globally.
