Announcement of the Jury for the 112th National Salon of Visual Arts

The members of the Regional Pre-selection Jury, the Selection and Awards Jury, and the Jury for the National Lifetime Achievement Award have been announced.

The National Secretariat of Culture, headed by Leonardo Cifelli, announces the list of members who will comprise the Regional Pre-selection Jury, the Selection and Awards Jury, and the Jury for the National Lifetime Achievement Award for the 112th National Salon of Visual Arts. This competition, held since 1911 to honor the most representative works of contemporary Argentine art, comprises the National Salon of Visual Arts Award and the National Lifetime Achievement Award.

Leonardo Damonte

Approved by the José Santiago "Fifo" Rogero Art School No. 2.

Born in Mercedes in 1978, he is a Senior Professor of Visual Arts. Since 2004, he has participated in solo and group exhibitions. He has received training and advanced scholarships, as well as important awards. His work is included in public and private collections. He lives and works in San Isidro, Buenos Aires.

Fernando Farina

Approved by the Argentine Association of Art Critics.

A graduate in Art Theory and Criticism, he was director of the Castagnino Museum, founder of the Rosario Museum of Contemporary Art, and director of the FNA (National Art Museum). She is Vice President of AACA and AICA, Professor of Sociology of Art (UNR) and Curatorial Narratives in the Master's Program in Curatorship (UNTREF).

Mónica Jacobo

Authorized by the Faculty of Arts of the National University of Córdoba.

Visual artist and PhD in Arts. Her interest focuses on artistic production that engages with diverse materialities and media, specializing in the incorporation of subalternized approaches and practices into art circles that promote critical reflections.

Claudia Lamas

Architect and visual artist, professor at UCASAL. She has served on the jury at the 2024 Venice Biennale, among others. Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Salta (2011-2022). She is currently Undersecretary of Cultural Heritage for the Province of Salta.

Mariana Mattar

Visual artist and cultural manager. She is the area head of the Municipal Museum of Modern Art of Mendoza. She was Vice President of the Fundación del Interior, where she curated, managed, researched, published, and produced exhibitions.

Diego Perrotta

Stefanie Wolff

Rodrigo Alonso

Also a curator for this edition.

He holds a degree in arts specializing in contemporary art and new media. He is an independent curator and university professor. He is a researcher and theorist in technological art and performance. As a curator, he has organized exhibitions at numerous international institutions. In 2011, he curated the Argentine Pavilion at the 54th Venice International Art Biennale.

Virginia Buitrón

Endorsed by the Carlos Morel Municipal School of Fine Arts.

Visual artist. Winner of the Estímulo Provincia de Santa Fe (3rd Best Work) 110 SNAV, UNNE, HCS Provincia Bs As, and Kemble awards. She was featured in "The Book of 10,000 Things" at the International Human Rights Institute (LIH), Documenta 15, Kassel. Her work is included in the collections of the Palais de Glace, the Museo Moderno, Brusau, and Petorutti.

Marina Cisneros

Endorsed by the Undersecretariat of Culture of the City of Neuquén.

Visual artist, cultural manager, and producer. She directs RARA, a digital platform for the study and dissemination of contemporary artistic photography. She is a co-founder of the Red Cuero Patagonia (Patagonian Leather Network). She works as an evaluator of cultural projects in the Visual Arts sector.

Daniel Fischer

Professor and Curator of Contemporary Art. Member of AACA and SEMA. He studied Architecture and Visual Arts. He teaches at the UNNE. He has received national and international scholarships. He was director of the René Brusau Museum of Fine Arts. He is a doctoral candidate at the National University of La Plata.

Estanislao Florido

Endorsed by the Manuel Belgrano School of Artistic Education.

His work focuses on painting and animation. A graduate of the ENBAPP in 2001, he has held scholarships at the CCRojas, Fundación Telefónica, and CCEBA. He has received awards such as the Grand Prize of Honor at the 100th National Salon of Visual Arts. He has exhibited in national and international museums and biennials.

Andrés Duprat

Argentine architect, screenwriter, and art curator. He is currently director of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires. He was director of the Museum of Fine Arts in Bahía Blanca. Between 2002 and 2004, he directed the “Espacio Fundación Telefónica” Contemporary Art Center in Buenos Aires. He served as Director of Visual Arts for the Ministry of Culture of Argentina. As an art curator, he has organized more than 100 exhibitions in museums and specialized centers in Argentina and abroad. He has written the scripts for four feature films directed by Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat.

Mariana Marchesi

Born in Buenos Aires in 1972, she is an art historian and researcher at the University of Buenos Aires, where she specializes in Argentine and Latin American art of the 1960s and 1970s and in the study of museums and exhibitions. She is the artistic director of the National Museum of Fine Arts. Between 2011 and 2015, she was the editor of the magazine Blanco sobre Blanco and co-editor of Caiana. The results of her research are published in various local and international publications. She is the President of CAIA.

María José Herrera

Laura Valdivieso Pérez

A graduate of the Faculty of Arts at UNCuyo, she is a visual artist and also a professor, curator, art critic, and researcher. She has published books, catalogs, and press releases since 1998.
