Pinta Lima Art Fair Bids Farewell to 2025 with a Memorable Edition

Pinta Lima's FORUM 2025 brought together 26 speakers, a distinguished selection of contemporary art voices, to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the contemporary art field in Latin America.

Last Sunday, the 12th edition of Pinta Lima, Peru's only contemporary art fair, closed with a resounding success in terms of audiences and sales, becoming a key reference point in the Latin American art scene and a meeting point for the region.

The fair, held at Casa Prado in Miraflores, brought together 43 galleries from 15 cities, artists, curators, and collectors, and welcomed more than 15,000 visitors. Among them were more than 60 guests from the international delegation, offering a unique platform for dialogue and reflection on the region's artistic production. Also present were key figures from the regional context, such as curators Emiliano Valdés (Guatemala), as well as local artists and thinkers from Peru, such as Sharon Lerner, José Carlos Mariátegui, Yvonne von Mollendorff, Manongo Mujica, and Alberto Rebaza; and critic and researcher Jorge Villacorta, along with young voices such as Celeste Valero (Argentina) and Sofía Véliz (Guatemala).

This plurality of perspectives made the forum a key space for rethinking the present and future of the Latin American artistic ecosystem. Awards and Sales

Pinta Lima highlighted several awards that demonstrate support for artistic practice and the promotion of collecting, consolidating the fair as an essential meeting point for the international art community. The EFG Latin America Art Award, in its 15th edition, recognized the work of Ishmael Randall-Weeks, a sculpture that fuses Peruvian elements with contemporary techniques.

The AFP Integra Award for the best NEXT booth honored the Argentine gallery Linse Galería for its innovative proposal in its first international participation. Additionally, the RADAR Award, sponsored by Bottega Dasso, recognized the booth of the Peruvian gallery Paseolab.

In addition, Pinta Lima and Euro Motors S.A., the official representative of Audi in Peru, announced the first edition of the Audi/Pinta Lima Visual Arts Competition 2025. This competition sought to promote national artistic production and give visibility to new creative proposals in the field of visual arts.

A curatorial program with a regional vision

Irene Gelfman served as Global Curator and formed a curatorial team of prominent Latin American figures. The program included three sections: the Main Section, RADAR (curated by Florencia Portocarrero), and NEXT (curated by Emiliano Valdés). Additionally, the program included a Video Project (curated by Irene Gelfman), a Special Project curated by Giuliana Vidarte, and a well-deserved tribute to Peruvian artist Teresa Burga (1935–2021), curated by Miguel A. López. Recognizing her legacy as a pioneer of conceptual and multimedia art.

Pinta Lima's FORUM 2025 brought together 26 speakers, a distinguished selection of contemporary art voices, on the challenges and opportunities of the contemporary art field in Latin America. Manuel Segade, current Director of the Museo Reina Sofía and María Sancho-Arroyo, participated from Spain. From the United States, Pablo León de la Barra, curator of the Guggenheim Museum specializing in Latin America, joined; and from the United Kingdom, renowned collector and art historian Catherine Petitgas provided a global perspective on collecting.
During the 2025 edition of Pinta Lima, commercial results were exceptional, driven by a high volume of transactions and active sales dynamics. The flow of transactions was constant throughout the fair and accelerated toward the close, achieving a notable placement of works and validating the sustained interest of collectors, institutional buyers, and new buyers.

The next edition of Pinta Lima has been scheduled: April 23-26, 2026, again at the Casa Prado. The fair catalog is now online, providing an overview of the sections, galleries, and works. For more information, images, and press materials, visit pinta.art.
