Art Basel Miami Beach 2025 brings together 285 galleries and reinforces the prominence of the Americas, highlighting Latin American debuts and a new generation of New York artists.
Art Basel Miami Beach has revealed the exhibitor list for its highly anticipated 2025 edition, bringing together 285 galleries from 44 countries and territories. The event takes place from December 5th to 7th, with VIP previews on the 3rd and 4th, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. With one fewer gallery than in 2024, the fair reinforces its role as the largest gathering of contemporary art in the Western Hemisphere since its inception in 2002.
This year's selection reflects Art Basel's commitment to the most pressing debates currently affecting the American art scene. More than two-thirds of the galleries are based in the Americas, with a focus on the work of Latinx, Indigenous, and diasporic artists. The event also marks the debut of several Latin American and Caribbean galleries, such as El Apartamento (Havana/Madrid), Crisis (Lima), and Pasto (Buenos Aires), expanding the perspective on art from the Global South in the international context.

Furthermore, a new generation of galleries from the New York contemporary scene is also gaining ground in 2025. Initiatives such as Margot Samel, Candice Madey, Theta, and YveYANG are making their debut at the fair, reflecting the creative vitality of the independent circuit in downtown New York. They join established names returning to Art Basel Miami Beach, such as Gagosian, Hauser & Wirth, Thaddaeus Ropac, David Zwirner, and White Cube.
According to Bridget Finn, the fair's director, "the strength and caliber of exhibitors reaffirms Art Basel Miami Beach's central role in the global art ecosystem." In her official statement, she highlighted the importance of artistic production in the Americas and the fair's role as a strategic gateway for international artists to enter the American market.
The fair is structured with four main sections: Galleries, which brings together veteran exhibitors; Nova, which focuses on works produced in the last three years by up to three artists; Positions, with young galleries presenting solo exhibitions by emerging artists; and Survey, dedicated to historical practices.
In the Galleries sector, Brazilian artists A Gentil Carioca, Almeida & Dale Galeria de Arte, Galeria Raquel Arnaud, Luciana Brito Galeria, Casa Triângulo, Galatea, Gomide & Co, Mendes Wood DM, Marília Razuk, Nara Roesler, Simões de Assis, Luisa Strina, and Vermelho will participate. Brazilian artist Verver will participate in the Positions sector, and in the Survey sector, Galeria MAPA will be presenting the artist Firmino Saldanha.
Two new features for this edition are still to come: details of complementary programs, such as Conversations and other sectors, will be announced in the coming months. On the other hand, the unprecedented Art Basel Awards ceremony, established in February 2025 to honor exceptional achievements in the contemporary art ecosystem, has already been confirmed. The gold medal winners will be chosen from the 36 already announced, through an internal vote, and will be revealed on December 4th at the New World Convention Center.
