International exhibition on Gaza arrives in Brazil for the first time

The Palestine Museum's "Gaza Remains the Story" exhibition opens on September 10th at Beit Za'atar in Florianópolis. The exhibition has toured 65 locations, including London, Berlin, Vancouver, Prague, Brussels, Dublin, Tehran, Barcelona, Melbourne, Ljubljana, Washington, and Belfast.

Next Wednesday, September 10th, Beit Za'atar, a Palestinian gastronomic, literary, and artistic space located in Florianópolis, will host the exhibition "Gaza Remains the Story" from the Palestine Museum, based in Birzeit.

For the first time in Brazil, the exhibition focuses on the land, people, and places of Gaza, bringing together a wide variety of materials—from artistic works to infographics, texts, drawings, audiovisual productions, photographs, and historical documents—to offer the public a comprehensive panorama of Gaza: historical, economic, cultural, demographic, and material.

According to the Palestine Museum, the museum organizing the exhibition, "the successive
horrors experienced by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip have led to the neglect of daily life, the rich heritage, and the forms of arts, sciences, and creativity developed by its
people. [...] The exhibition does not only address the war in Gaza; instead, it declares that life
in Gaza is longer than all the colonialisms that have traversed it, and that its people,
its streets, and its sea have always been there—before and after the Israeli occupation, before and
after the siege, before and after the massacres."

For Manuela and Dawoud Al Azraq, founders of Beit Za'atar, the exhibition is more than an
opportunity for the public to delve deeper into Gaza's historical context: "It is also an
invitation to discover the complexity, richness, and depth of its cultural,
material, and historical heritage. Above all, it is a moment to witness the continuity of life
in Gaza, which, even amidst the rubble, insists on remaining."

The exhibition was designed for audiences worldwide and has already toured more than 65 locations,
including London, Berlin, Vancouver, Prague, Brussels, Dublin, Tehran, Barcelona, Melbourne,
Ljubljana, Washington, and Belfast.
