"Art for Gaza," a group art exhibition at the former Cine delle Palme in San Benedetto del Tronto
The exhibition will open on December 12 at 5:00 p.m., the opening day, and will be open daily until December 20 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
SAN BENEDETTO DEL TRONTO – Grazia Carminucci, Sergio Carnevali, Claudia Cundari, Francesco Del Zompo, Marisa Korzeniecki, Fabrizio Mariani, Michaela Menestrina, Dennis Merlini, Maicol & Mirco, Giancarlo Orrù, PGC, Giuseppe Piscopo, Marcello Sgattoni, Giorgio Voltattorni, and Armin Weis are the names of the 15 artists who have donated some of their works to the group art exhibition "Art for Gaza." Donations for the works displayed in the group exhibition will go to the Gazzella OdV Association, which has been caring for and rehabilitating injured children in Gaza since 2000. Currently, its main activity is food distribution in central and southern Gaza. From its inception, the Buon Vento cultural association has been characterized by its commitment to community engagement (collecting essential items for Ukraine was one of its members' first notable actions) and, above all, by its focus on issues such as war (2022 "Manifest Peace"), the climate crisis (2023 "Crisis, Final Warning"), and respect for social, economic, and ethnic diversity (2024 "Tolerance Poster Exhibition"). "Today, our artist friends have asked themselves how they can contribute to alleviating, even in a small way, the ongoing destruction," the organizers explain. Some have painted, sculpted, and drawn the pain and desperate protest of the Gazans to make them visible. These are wounds imprinted on a material that doesn't dissolve in seconds like a television image, nor does it fade into sudden oblivion or become an excuse for our consciences. They are signs, indelible lines, raw yet powerful, that jolt us out of our lethargy, interrupting our habit of horror. And sometimes, they are the dreams of those who know how to convince us all that there is beauty, hope, even love. Will they save the world? Perhaps not, but they certainly make us feel better. The exhibition will be open on December 12th from 5:00 pm, the opening day, and every day until December 20th from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
