Madrid Hosts More Than 150 Works by Picasso, Dalí, and Miró from May 8 to 11 at the Standarte Fair
The Carlos de Amberes Foundation, in Madrid's Salamanca neighborhood, will host the third edition of Standarte from Thursday, May 8 to Sunday, May 11, a modern art fair that will bring together more than 150 original pieces by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, Joaquín Sorolla, Diego Rivera, and Miquel Barceló.

The event, which has established itself as a highlight on Madrid's cultural agenda, will allow the public to enjoy a tour of key works from the 20th and 21st centuries.

In this edition, six prestigious national galleries will gather in the Foundation's exhibition space: Astarloa, BIM Heritage, J. Bagot, Jordi Pascual, Lorenart, and Mayoral. Four of them—Astarloa, BIM Heritage, Lorenart, and Mayoral—are participating in Standarte for the first time, presenting significant pieces such as Salvador Dalí's "Space Venus," Antoni Tàpies's "1+3," Francisco Iturrino's "Women Bathing in the River," and Carmen Laffón's "Still Life."

Joining them are veteran galleries Jordi Pascual, which will show works such as Luis Feito's "No. 271" and Manolo Millares' "Cuadro (4)," and J. Bagot, which will exhibit pieces of special interest to Latin American art lovers, such as Diego Rivera's "Portrait of a Peasant with a Pointed Hat" and Alexander Calder's "Mobile."

"Standarte is a selection that speaks of quality, a unique perspective, and a passion for art," says Mercè Camps, co-organizer of the fair with her sister Oti, in a statement released by the organizers.

For those looking for cultural activities in Madrid this week, Standarte offers a unique opportunity to discover some of the leading names in contemporary and modern art in an accessible and central setting.
