More than 70 works of art are being auctioned in collaboration with the Pata Pila organization

From September 4th to 13th, the province of Mendoza will host the First Edition of "Art in the Provinces." During those days, the community will be able to enjoy an art exhibition with free admission.
This collaborative auction organized by "Art in the Provinces" will take place on September 13th, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The auction will be held in person at the iconic Bodega Centenario (currently Autiqcars) (Pedro Vargas 2311, Guaymallén, Mendoza) and via streaming from anywhere in the world.
An art auction with a dual purpose: cultural and social.

Cultural purpose: "Art in the Provinces" was created with the intention of bringing the meeting point of national art—historically centered in the major capitals—to new regions of the country.

“This cultural and social project emerges from a deep conviction: there is an immense wealth of talent in the country's provinces—talent that constitutes the heart of national art—and major artistic gatherings shouldn't be reserved solely for the world's capitals,” says Rosa Lesca, co-founder of “Arte en las Provincias” (poet, with expertise in the work of León Ferrari, visual artist, and cultural manager).

“We create these meeting spaces between masters of Latin American art, established artists, and emerging talents from all the country's provinces. In each edition, a large part of the selected artists come from the region that hosts us: in this case, the province of Mendoza,” adds Olivia Ramazza Arentsen, co-founder of “Arte en las Provincias” (lawyer and communicator, with experience in artistic and community initiatives in Mexico).

Social Purpose: “Arte en las Provincias” aims to transform access to art into a driver of community impact.

Through a new model called collaborative auctions, the project allocates the proceeds to specific social initiatives in each province hosting the auction, working alongside organizations with a real territorial impact.

“Collaborating, participating, and receiving are the cornerstones of this new model, which transcends individual benefit to become a collective engine of cultural and social transformation, where each party simultaneously contributes and receives,” says Rosa Lesca.

“With this social purpose, we seek to promote concrete actions that improve the local reality of each province, city, and town, working alongside social organizations with a territorial impact. In this first edition in Mendoza, part of the auction proceeds will be donated to the Pata Pila organization to build two primary care centers in disadvantaged neighborhoods in the province. The total proceeds are divided between this social purpose, the cultural purpose, and the amount received by the artists from the sale of their works,” explains Olivia Ramazza Arentsen.
About “Pata Pila”

Pata Pila is a non-profit organization that, since 2015, has been working alongside communities experiencing extreme and structural poverty in Argentina, focusing on Indigenous and Creole families in the Gran Chaco Americano (Northern Argentina).

“From a comprehensive approach and intercultural perspective, we implement programs to protect early childhood, combat malnutrition, empower women, strengthen the social economy, and integrate families into the public-private system. We are actively working to restore the right to health, education, work, and access to drinking water to protect early childhood and guarantee fundamental rights,” says Karina Tejada, Regional Coordinator of Pata Pila in the province of Mendoza.
Because art not only transforms perspectives, it also transforms lives.

The funds raised during the collaborative auction will be used by “Pata Pila” to build two Primary Care Centers located in the outlying neighborhoods of San Rafael, Mendoza.

“The money will be used to complete the remodeling of a trailer suitable for use as a Comprehensive Development Center in the National Center. The program will provide services related to nutrition, a vocational and entrepreneurship program, and a snack bar, along with academic support,” explains Karina Tejada. “Having a physical Comprehensive Development Center will fundamentally change the way services are currently provided in Mendoza. Often, due to weather conditions such as extreme cold or rain, the ability to carry out these services properly is limited, both for professionals and for people to attend,” she adds.
The works that will be for sale

in our country, offering the opportunity for emerging talents to exhibit alongside leading figures in the art world. At the same time, the curatorship includes a significant participation of Mendoza artists to celebrate regional art in their own territory.

Ana Kozel, León Ferrari, and Luis Felipe Noé sponsor the collaborative exhibition and auction. As a tribute, several of their works are presented, giving them a prominent space and offering the public the opportunity to enjoy more of their work.

Recognizing that these three leading figures in national art have created graphic works with the aim of promoting circulation and democratizing access to art, silkscreen prints of each are presented.

Luis Felipe Noé participates with "In the Tangle" and "News about the Amazons," the artist's latest silkscreen prints, in 2024.

Both are part of NOÉ EN CLAVE GRÁFICA: a selection of iconic works created with the aim of bringing his works to different audiences through a reinterpretation using the silkscreen technique, produced by the Felipe Noé Foundation and Ignacio Giraudi (Cumby) under the direction of the artist.

The original version of "In the Tangle" (1986) is part of the collection of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires. This silkscreen print, produced with 40 colored inks, displays impressive technical displays.

"News about the Amazons" is the silkscreen version of "Noticias sobre las Amazonas" (1996), a work inspired by a story by a Spanish chronicler from the time of the Conquest, which recounts the encounter with the women of the Amazonian territory, as warlike as the men.

The complete edition of León Ferrari's León/Infinito is offered, marked as PA (Artist's Proof). Only five sets of PAs exist; these are reserved for the estate of the parties that produced the edition. One of these is being offered for sale exclusively and for one time only to fulfill the collaborative purposes of Art in the Provinces. The serigraphs that comprise León/Infinito are presented in separate lots for those who wish to collect the complete folder.

The edition consists of eight serigraphs with images of works by León Ferrari from all periods. The curatorship was led by students and participants of the León Ferrari Gallery at the Isauro Arancibia School. The selection of works is the result of in-depth work led by Rosa Lesca, who has expertise in the artist's work.

León Ferrari is also participating with a unique work reminiscent of the artist's iconic "Musics," his first drawings from 1962, in which a rhythmic script begins to emerge that will evolve into deformed calligraphy as an artistic expression. The work participating in the collaborative auction is an ink on canvas with marouflage from 2009, the year in which the MoMA in New York held its exhibition.

Two works by Ana Kozel, shared by her family as a way of honoring her artistic legacy, will be exhibited for the first time since her passing in 2024. Both pieces represent the core of Kozel's artistic quest: light and stellar space.

"Planetary Vision," a mixed media on paper, and "Light Series II," a silkscreen marked Artist's Proof 2/20, the original of which was a large-scale acrylic work exhibited in the 1970s and 1980s at Galería Van Riel and Galería del Retiro-Bonino.

Among the artists highlighted for their careers are Ana Candioti, Marta Vicente, Eduardo Hoffmann, and Luis Scafati.

Ana Candioti participates with the work "Vendimia" (Grape Harvest), from the "Trabajadores" series, whose image represents the grape harvest in a must-have piece celebrating the essence of Mendoza.

Marta Vicente and Luis Scafati, who have just opened an important exhibition at Hoy en el arte (Today in Art), collaborate with two unique works that reflect their technical mastery and poetic sensibility: "Teléfono Obligato" (Busy Telephone), Scafati, 1989, and "El Indiferente" (The Indifferent), Vicente, 2015.

Eduardo Hoffmann's work includes a marvelous Study for Puente Viviente (Living Bridge) - Tower Office & Park Hyatt Project, Delhi, which the artist completed in India with a 90 square meter piece.

India's "living bridges": organic structures created by the interweaving of tree roots, which strengthen over time, withstand typhoons and floods, and remain firm for centuries. Some of these natural bridges are over 500 years old and are cared for from generation to generation, deeply rooted in the earth.

The auction is also collaborative with buyers, seeking to generate acquisition opportunities for a wide audience. Works are offered starting at USD 200, with the idea that we all have the right to beauty and that art, as one of its highest expressions, should be accessible to as many people as possible.
