Artweek 2025 Celebrates a Decade of Art and Inclusion in Santiago, Chile

Artweek 2025 celebrates its tenth anniversary with record participation and more than 8,000 works on display.
Chile's largest international art fair commemorates 10 years by bringing together 380 artists from around the world, with new partnerships, immersive installations, and free admission for children and seniors.

This Saturday, November 8, and Sunday, November 9, the Estación Mapocho Cultural Center will once again be the epicenter of art with the tenth edition of ARTWEEK, Chile's largest international art fair, presented by Seguros SURA.

This year, the event celebrates a decade of success, breaking participation records with 380 national and international artists and more than 8,000 works for sale, all concentrated in a heritage and iconic space in the capital.

In this anniversary edition, the fair returns with a rich program that includes painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, contemporary jewelry, illustration, watercolor, collage, muralism, and digital art, among many other disciplines and activities for the whole family.

Among the most prominent names in the 2025 edition are Ciro Beltrán, Diego Romo, Andrés Vió, Alex Chellew, Maite Izquierdo, Alejandra Musalem, and, among other jewelry makers, Celeste Painepan and Veronica Piraino.

Sculptors such as Carolina Ramos, Josué Gerlic, and Tere Haeussler, along with other talented contemporary artists like Francisca Alhers, Mónica Veliz, Fernanda Saldivia, Eileen Lunecke, Paula Cifuentes, Mario Rasso, Luz Benavente, Lía Yolanda Studio, Fatty Azzid, Erasmo Figueroa, and Pía Aldana, will also be featured.

From abroad, representing Peru will be Claudia Freundt, and from Uruguay, Atelier Javier Alvez. Also participating will be Argentinians Ignacio Domenech, Mariano Botas, and Paola Cohen, as well as Russian artists Olga Glukova and Anastasiia Bakhtina, among other contemporary artists.

NEW FOR 2025

Among the biggest surprises of this edition is the immersive light installation by artist Catalina Rojas, which will transform the visitor experience through a unique sensory journey. In addition, children under 10 and adults over 70 will be admitted free of charge, reaffirming the fair's commitment to accessibility and cultural democratization.

This year, the fair is once again supported by the Municipality of Santiago, which not only brings significant benefits to the city but also enables a wide range of activities. One of the most important aspects is the live sculpture creation, featuring the renowned Mexican artist Asael Castillo, who is traveling to Chile for the first time to showcase his magnificent works and collaborate on the piece alongside talented artists such as Pepo Marana from Argentina, Claudia Freundt from Peru, and Erika Cassanello, Guadalupe Valdés, and Claudia Trewik from Chile. It is worth noting that this sculpture will be donated to the Pediatric Oncology Department of the San Juan de Dios Hospital.

For Christine Clément, director of ARTWEEK, “Reaching our 10th anniversary is a tremendous source of pride, and we will celebrate with our largest number of exhibitors and successful artists who have never before visited the country. We have seen this fair grow from a dream to become a benchmark for Latin American art. This anniversary is a celebration of talent, collaboration, and the opportunity for more artists to show their work to the world.”

Another major highlight this year is the participation of Galería SURA, which is solidifying its position as a fundamental pillar in the promotion of contemporary art in the region. This year's edition will feature a high-caliber exhibition with works by Solange Heilenkotter, renowned for her exploration of form and color; Lorenzo Moya, a prominent visual artist whose work blends the material with the conceptual; and Carlos Fernández, a sculptor with a long and distinguished career who proposes a dialogue between matter and emotion.

“Participating in ARTWEEK is a unique opportunity to recognize and celebrate the talent of national and international artists. These kinds of events not only bring artistic creation closer to the community, but also allow more people to enjoy it, learn from it, and connect with different forms of expression. At Seguros SURA, we believe that art plays a fundamental role in contributing to people's well-being. Therefore, supporting these kinds of initiatives is also a way to contribute to the development of a healthier society,” commented Eliana Restrepo, Vice President of Human Talent at Seguros SURA.

In addition, the prestigious Mexican gallery Pedro Ávila will present works by Mexican artist Pablo Fierro and Colombian artist Agustín Nicolás Rivero. The Peruvian gallery Marissi Campos will also be present, showcasing works by the renowned master José Tola, an award-winning figure in contemporary art.

Meanwhile, the “Bridge Event,” sponsored by the Embassy of Argentina, will take place, seeking to unite two sister countries through art, with the participation of Catalina Ruiz (Argentina) and Manuel Ugarte (Chile).

INTERNATIONALIZATION OF CHILEAN TALENT

This year, the ARTWEEK Fair reaffirms its global commitment, as it will in 2024, thanks to its partnership with the Pedro Ávila Gallery. Together with the fair, they will be responsible for selecting the winning artists who will travel to Mexico to exhibit their work, thus opening new doors for the internationalization of Chilean (and regional) art.

AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

ARTWEEK 2025 will offer a journey that combines art, culture, entertainment, and gastronomy. Visitors can enjoy live performances, workshops (including activities for children), music, talks, and a food truck area. All in an environment that celebrates intergenerational dialogue and creative diversity.
