Prensa Latina.- Visual artists Kamil Bullaudy and Mario Fabelo inaugurated an exhibition today at the José Martí National Library in this capital, on the 130th anniversary of the death in combat of Cuba's National Hero.
I'm one of those who say that Martí has to be like bread, he has to be everyday, daily; this exhibition is a source of great pride for me because I share the space with a painter I greatly admire, Kamil Bullaudy told Prensa Latina.
"This is light and the sun never rises" is the title of the exhibition, which, with some 30 works, pays tribute to José Martí, one of the main figures in Cuban history, also known as the Apostle.
For his part, Fabelo explained that the creative process took months, but there was no excessive planning; both are followers of Martí, and everything flowed with the imprint of fate.
The curatorship was also like that; we created this exhibition that integrates one with the other, in which there is unity and formal coherence, without much desk work or much thought, Fabelo told this news agency.
"My verse will grow. Under the grass, I will also grow"; "Poet"; "Our model" are some of the titles of the paintings presented by Bullaudy.
In turn, Fabelo incorporated "Whispering Angels"; "Homeland and Resilience," from the "Echo of Silence" series, among other works.
Omar Valiño, director of the National Library, told Prensa Latina that it is an honor for the center to bear the name of the Apostle and they always seek to carry out actions to promote the work, ideals, and example of Martí.
Now, on the 130th anniversary, it was doubly obligatory, and that's why we located two painters who regularly work with him, to bring them together for the first time in an exhibition event, Valiño emphasized.
The exhibition will remain at the Kingdom of This World Gallery of the José Martí National Library of Cuba for approximately one month.
