From the Havana Biennial to Chile: Mariella Sola opens exhibition this Saturday at La Perrera Arte
Chilean-Spanish visual artist and photographer Mariella Sola participated in the 15th Havana Biennial from February 2024 to February of this year with "Relatos Breves," a project that interweaves audiovisual creation with photography, drawings, and testimonial work in the form of short stories, conveying the voices of those who participated. The exhibition was part of the collective exhibition "Strategies for Good Living" by curator and deputy director of the Wifredo Lam Contemporary Art Center, Lisset Alonso.
During her time in Cuba, she also participated in two collateral exhibitions at the Biennial's sub-venue in Matanzas with the projects: Franja Blanca and Lo Sublime-La Sublevación.
Short Stories at La Perrera Arte
Short Stories has been awarded three Fondart prizes and has been presented at important institutions in Cuba and Chile prior to the Biennial (Fototeca de Cuba, Uneac de Matanzas, GAM, Matucana 100, and Centro Cultural La Moneda). The group exhibition will be on display at the Dante Room of La Perrera Arte, in Balmaceda Park, Santiago, starting Saturday, May 31st.
