Works by Botero, Grau, and 80 other important artists up for auction: Date and price of exclusive pieces
Modern art pieces can be purchased from $2,000,000 to $160,000,000.
Bogotá Auctions will auction 98 pieces of modern and contemporary Colombian and Latin American art by 80 prestigious artists. The catalog features a careful selection of works from different decades of the 20th and 21st centuries, signed by these great masters of national and, in some cases, international art.
According to reports, some of the most special works include: Carlos Rojas, an early Botero painting, an Enrique Grau from 1959, a large-format painting by Luis Roldán from the Parque de la Independencia series, and an autograph notebook by Antonio Caro, dated 1982.
According to Charlotte Pieri, general director of Bogotá Auctions, "Women artists are represented by emblematic works by Marlene Hoffmann, Emma Reyes, Beatriz González, Maripaz Jaramillo, Ethel Gilmour, María Teresa Negreiros, and María Teresa Hincapié, along with the aforementioned Cecilia Porras and Freda Sargent, thus creating a solid and diverse panorama of women's contributions to Colombian art of the 20th and 21st centuries."
It is worth mentioning that participants from anywhere in Colombia and around the world can participate in the auction, which will take place next Thursday, May 29th at 8 p.m. All interested parties can view the works in person at Bogotá Auctions, located at Calle 70 #10 A – 59, or through the website www.bogotaauctions.com.
Prices for the works
The works with the highest estimates are the two pieces by the master Fernando Botero: between $80 and $160 million each.
A Beatriz González, a Jacanamijoy, an Obregón, and a Negret between $25 and $50 million.
A small Débora Arango between $2 and $4 million.
A Ramírez Villamizar between $70 and $140 million.
Carlos Rojas between $40 and $60 million.
A Grau between $24 and $48 million.
Another Obregón between $20 and $40 million.
Manuel Hernández and Luis Roldán between $20 and $40 million.
Delcy Morelos between $18 and $36 million.

Although in Colombia there is no specific data on the investment that individuals make in art, according to Bogotá Auctions, in 2024, for the first time, more than US$7 billion was awarded in 13 specialized auctions, representing a 42% increase compared to 2023.
