Gonzalo Cárcamo: Watercolor Master in Chile

Gonzalo Cárcamo, a Chilean artist born in 1954, can be considered one of the notable figures in watercolor painting. With remarkable delicacy and sensitivity, he not only draws and paints scenes from his surroundings but is also actively involved in illustration.

Cárcamo is an illustrator, cartoonist, and artist with extensive experience in watercolor techniques. He has held several painting exhibitions in Brazil, Spain, and his native Chile.

He worked as a cartoonist for many years and even participated in the production of short animated films for Walt Disney Studios at HGN.

Cárcamo also works as a book illustrator for several Brazilian publishing houses. Works by prominent national and international authors, including Gabriel García Márquez, Machado de Assis, and Eça de Queirós, have been published featuring his illustrations.

In 2000, he published his first book as an author, Modelo Vivo, Natureza Morta (Live Model, Still Life), through Paulus Publishing House. It is a moving story told entirely through drawings.

He currently collaborates with Folha de S. Paulo newspaper and Época magazine, working from his own studio in Vila Madalena, São Paulo.
