Football on the Canvas: Major Visual Arts Exhibition Opens in Mexico City Amid FIFA World Cup 2026 Excitement
One of the most important visual arts events in Latin America this week is taking place in Mexico.
Museo Jumex in Mexico City is presenting the major exhibition "Football & Art: A Shared Emotion," bringing together nearly 100 artworks by 60 artists from 13 countries. The exhibition explores the relationship between football, art, culture, and social identity through paintings, sculptures, video art, installations, and multimedia works.
One of the exhibition's highlights is a large-scale outdoor installation created from seats of the historic Azteca Stadium, transforming a symbol of football history into a contemporary work of art. The exhibition is part of Mexico's cultural program accompanying the FIFA World Cup 2026 and will remain open until July 26, 2026.
The exhibition reflects Mexico's effort to connect contemporary visual arts with one of the world's most influential sporting events, offering visitors a unique cultural experience beyond the football field.
