Artificial intelligence and art: creativity or imitation?

Artificial intelligence and art: creativity or imitation?

Artificial intelligence is transforming the art world. Today, digital tools can produce paintings, illustrations, and images in mere seconds. But do these results represent true artistic expression, or merely a combination of existing references?

Art is not limited to visual beauty. It also expresses feelings, experiences, memories, and the way each artist interprets the world. A painting can embody the history of a community, the anxieties of an era, or the unique vision of its creator.

Artificial intelligence can offer new technical possibilities and broaden access to visual creation. However, the ability to generate images does not necessarily imply possessing artistic consciousness or a lived human experience.

The contemporary challenge lies in learning to use these technologies without losing sight of the value of human creativity. Rather than simply asking whether AI can produce beautiful images, we need to reflect on the meaning of art and on what makes a work truly relevant to society.
