The Gonzalo Vidal 2025 Music Festival Kicks Off: Full Program and Free Admission
Until May 19, Medellín will host concerts, talks, and master classes dedicated to Latin American music.
Starting this Monday, May 12, the 14th Gonzalo Vidal International Music Festival of Latin American Composers takes place in Medellín, organized by the Bellas Artes University Foundation.

The event pays tribute to the Medellín-based composer from Popayán, who composed the music for the Anthem of Antioquia and is a key figure in the city's musical history.

With free admission to the public, the festival offers an artistic and academic program that includes concerts, talks, and master classes at the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the auditorium of the Medellín Chamber of Commerce.
Musical groups from local, national, and international institutions participate, focusing on the performance, research, and dissemination of the Latin American repertoire.

Complete program for the 2025 Gonzalo Vidal Music Festival
*The opening ceremony is this Monday, the 12th, at 6:00 p.m. with pianist Lezlye Berrío performing Gonzalo Vidal's 24 Mazurkas in the Cano Hall.

*On Tuesday, the 13th, the Horizontes Sonoros wind quintet, composed of Juliana Mesa, León Giraldo, José García Taborda, Cristian Cárdenas, and Anderson Gaviria, will perform at 7:00 p.m. in the Beethoven Hall.

*Wednesday, the 14th, will open with the talk "Panorama of Latin American Music" by maestro Heyder López (8:00 a.m.) and a piano masterclass with Giorgio Latso (9:00 a.m.). In the evening, Fine Arts students and the Arkos Ensemble from Adventist University will offer a recital at 7:00 p.m., also in the Beethoven Hall.

*On Thursday the 15th, the Bellas Artes Jazz Fusion Band will perform in the Chamber of Commerce auditorium (downtown) at 7:00 p.m.

*On Friday the 16th, Spanish pianist and communicator Antoni Tolmos will give a lecture on "When You Doubt Yourself: Self-Esteem for Artists" at 9:00 a.m., and in the evening, Sandra Arboleda will perform with La Bailonga Tango and the Orquesta Típica.

*On Saturday the 17th, at 5:00 p.m., the Colombian Youth Symphony Orchestra will perform, conducted by Carlos Erazo, with repertoire by Enrique Iturriaga (Peru) and José Pablo Moncayo (Mexico).

*The closing ceremony will be on Monday, May 19th at 7:00 p.m. with a concert of Boleros and Love Songs by pianist Antoni Tolmos.
